The El Prez has been shot with pistol for years. Here, we simply replace the pistol with the rifle. Conducted from 10 yards, the drill requires 12x rounds (6 in each mag) and 3x targets (I typically use IPSC targets). A Pro Timer is obviously a big help here as well. We concentrate on quickly getting the gun on target, acquiring a good sight picture for every shot (which means continually driving the gun back to the center of the target), and executing a quick, fluid slide lock reload. A beautifully blued barrel is exceptionally pleasing to the eye. This GunTec video explains the process for finishing a barrel using Art's Belgium Blue, a unique cold bluing product.
