A slow timed revolver is one that fails to bring the chamber completely into alignment as the gun comes to battery. In this guntec presentation Larry Potterfield, CEO and Founder of midwayusa, details how to fix the timing on a slow timed revolver. Typically, slow timing is caused by the hand not fully engaging the teeth of the ratchet on the rear of the cylinder. This problem is corrected by the installation of an oversized hand. I show some differences between Colt clones and Ruger single-action revolvers. The guns shown are a Ruger Vaquero .357, a United States Firearms (USFA) Rodeo II .38 special. There is a cameo by an Uberti 7 inch colt clone, as well. I love them all!

This is part one of my, heavily biased, opinion on revolvers vs. semi-auto pistols. I compare two Smith & Wesson Chiefs Specials. One is a model 36 from the late 1950's and the other is a 3rd generation 2003 CS-9 semi-auto. The CS9 is a 9 mm. The model 36 is 38 special. Both have seen more than a thousand rounds. The model 36 has only failed on a dud (reloaded) round. The CS9 has had a few ftfs and ftes. However, the CS9 is reliable more than 99% of the time. Feel free to disagree and comment! Please subscribe, add me as friend, and rate this video. I will have many more videos on reloading, guns, booze, SHTF, and all kinds of similar stuff. STAY TUNED!!!
