AK-47 muzzle brake test

A little comparison of three types of muzzle brakes: Thread cover, slant brake and AK-74 type brake. Shooting 3 testshots 7.62x39 throught every brakes. Ammo used was Barnaul FMJ 123 gr/8g. Thread is normal AK-thread: 1/14 LH.

I made my own conclusions about brakes, and here's a short list of +/-

THREAD COVER:
+keeps the thread and barrel end covered
+easy to clean
-no braking effect
-only single shots accurately
SLANT BRAKE:
+very effectively disables the barrel to rise
+allows quiker re-aiming
+easy to clean
+size
-gun still kics straight back
AK74 STYLE BRAKE:
+removes most of recoil coming to shooters shoulder
+almost as good as a slant brake to prevent barrel rising (minor difference)
+allows faster and more accurate shots
+works best with the scope
-difficult to clean
-size

So, which one to use? If you want some challenge to shooting and "feel the power", use only thread cover. But if you need faster shots but still wanna feel the recoil, use a slant brake. The easiest to shoot is the AK-74 style brake, it eliminates recoil very effectivily, in full auto this brake would be in it's element..
The weapon look is the other thing to e.g. if you're filming a video. It's a personal choise and mine is a slant brace, because it makes ak appearance so traditional / original.

Why muzzle brakes are so many? In nowadays they are wanted stuff. If we return to the day when AK-47 was invented, the army service-rifle was Mosin-Nagant. When comparing AK-47 to Mosin-Nagant, we can see that the AK has lower recoil. I think that's the reason why early AK's doesn't have any kind of muzzle brakes - it was easy to handle when everybody has used to use Mosin's.
When we go forward to the time, m16 was invented - low recoil & high accuracy rifle (in cost of a reliability). This makes Russians to think muzzle brakes to their AK-47's and invent AK-74 with muzzle brake, as an applause to America's m16.
Nowadays tactical-use and easy shooting has gained value, so muzzle brake is wery wanted accessory to AK-47 - or to any other rifle.
